Welcome to eBay -- The World's Online Fun and More Games Place

13 May 2005 / Friday - I checked my seller list about 18h today, as I do every so often just to see what may sell and what may not get bids -- and what to my tired eyes should appear but 3 that are posted as ENDED, when in fact they still have some 5+ hours left! No wonder the bidding is slow and / or non-existent lately! So I took some handy screen shots to illustrate their latest gitch --

So to delve further into this mystery, I clicked on one of the items which was marked as ENDED, and what to my surprise did I find that the item, effectively, still had almost five hours left!

Let me check one more thing here, while I am at it -- my eBay store list -- keep in mind that I opened my eBay store on the eBay Spain web site because it was cheaper than starting one on the USA site, and many of their listing fees are still less expensive -- everything normal here also.

OK, so who do I complain to? eBay so-called customer service would tell me in a canned response that there is no problem -- didn't they have a strange way of minimizing the recent several hour outage they had a couple days ago? It's always the same thing with them -- rake in the listing fees, and forget about their paying sellers!

That's why I started listing on the Yahoo Auctions, to see if it might be worthwhile rather than / as an adjunct to eBay [link below] -- they are cheaper, even with 10-day listing AND gallery, a measly 5 cents for things under $10! And I have sold a couple items there, which is kewl.

It has been over an hour since I started this page, and now find that the above illustrated ENDED items now are being shown with 4+ hours left to go! And who is going to pay me for the time/s when they were shown as ENDED? After all, I did pay them for uninterrupted listings for a period of seven days, not just when their mfsoab'n web site is working correctly!

[stay tuned for more purely personal eBay views and observations -- make your own judgments concerning their newsworthyness]
